With another memorable season under their belt for the Block Devils, who this year are called upon to compete in every possible competition, from the Italian championship to the international stage, and have secured four more trophies, the work continues under the arches of the Pian di Massiano facility.
The postseason training phase, planned by the Juventus coaching staff, has begun; it is a very important phase for the athletes remaining in Perugia, as they continue to maintain their physical fitness and recover, under the guidance of the staff, from the workload they have been subjected to during this very compressed season.

Sir Susa Scai Perugia athletic trainer Sebastian Carotti explains the various phases of this training program following the conclusion of the season: “This postseason period, as in previous seasons, began after a week’s break. In this case, after the Final Four in Turin, we took a week off and on Monday, May 25th, we began postseason training, which will continue until the end of June. This period involves all first-team players not playing for their national teams, as well as the club’s young players who, once their national championships have concluded, will gradually join the training group. Some of these young players will begin training with the first team next season; for this reason, this period is of fundamental importance also for the future, allowing them to arrive at the start of the new preparation period in optimal physical condition and already integrated into the group’s work dynamics.

The primary goal of this phase is to provide continuity to each athlete’s physical development. This work window allows the coaching staff plenty of time, not only for physical development, but also for deepening their technical and tactical work on the pitch.
The weekly structure is divided into physical work in the morning and technical work on the pitch in the afternoon.
“It’s an extremely important period,” adds Carotti, “for developing strength, working on different angles and modes of expression; improving the technical component of exercises that require high coordination, which during the season often cannot be optimally performed due to lack of time; and improving the coordination of the team.” consolidate training dynamics that will be used throughout next season; pay greater attention to the organic and metabolic component, creating a solid physical foundation on which to build the subsequent preparation work.
