A well-deserved and emotional back-to-back: Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia, after their victory in the 2025 edition, confirmed their title as European Champions in 2026 by winning their second consecutive Champions League title. The triumph of Angelo Lorenzetti’s men, which came at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, confirms the excellent work done by the Umbrian club, which this season also won the Scudetto, Super Cup, and Club World Cup, finishing the year with four trophies.

The 3-0 victory against Aluron Warta Zawiercie kicked off the celebrations for the Block Devils, who thus confirmed their title a year after their first title.

Below are the voices and emotions of Perugia’s key players after their success in the continental tournament.

Angelo Lorenzetti
Angelo Lorenzetti (Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia coach): “There’s no point in making comparisons with last year, but this victory represents the end of a cycle, of a group that will change in part. A group that must remain in the memories of Perugia: they achieved a lot, and it wasn’t easy to repeat it. A group that was motivating for me, both technically and interpersonally, that learned to work side by side, to satisfy the need to know that to win, you had to do this. The way they played, the Final is truly satisfying: the completion of a job. It’s not always possible to achieve such a great victory. In the changes that will take place, we will need to find the motivation for a revolution.”

Simone Giannelli (captain Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia): “We care about our own things: we all win together, we all lose together. This is the epilogue of a team that worked hard every day; the losses allowed us to grow. I’m happy with what we achieved this year.

Massimo Colaci
Massimo Colaci (Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia): “An incredible season, full of emotions: we shared so many wonderful things. Beyond the medals, though, even if that’s all you see from the outside. A beautiful journey, but also one with challenges: truly fantastic, we finished with a splendid victory. It was a tough match, but that was normal: we held our serve, and that made the difference. At the end of the set, we displayed the calmness that distinguishes us.”

Oleh Plotnytskyi (Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia): “A special thank you to our fans, who were wonderful and incredible throughout the match and beyond. They deserved this victory too. We’re happy, we’re bringing another celebration to Perugia. Hard work always pays off. It was a great match, Perugia was great: we played as we know how and showed everyone how important hard work in the gym is. In the group, we take care of the new players who arrive, integrating them easily: it’s been a year of growth for me too, for sure. I want to continue like this and improve in some areas.”

Kamil Semeniuk (Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia): “I’m very happy: I imagined finishing this season with this trophy, hoping to help the team. I’m proud, for the fans, for the club, for all of Perugia: it was important to win this trophy. I didn’t think we’d be able to win 3-0: we were dominant, and we can be happy with how things went, beating the Polish champions. The first set proved to be very important: after winning it, we continued with our style. Winning two Champions Leagues in a row is something extraordinary: for me, it’s more important to show something on the pitch, to give a piece of myself to the club to win.”

Sebastian Solé (Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia): “We made history, and I’m happy to be part of it: it’s not a coincidence. We’ve worked hard over the years, and I’m not surprised by this victory. We achieved all our goals. We overwhelmed them, without giving them a chance, and this demonstrated our desire to win. We’ve been here for a long time, a Champions League won with humility, hard work, and serenity. We must celebrate: we deserve it.”

Donovan Dzavoronok
Donovan Dzavoronok (Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia): “This year we won everything, and I’m very proud to be part of this team: it’s an immense joy. I didn’t know how my knee would react: thinking back now, it seems truly incredible to be here. I have to thank the physiotherapists and trainers: I’m fine now and I hope to get even better.”

Wassim Ben Tara
Wassim Ben Tara (Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia): “I don’t know how to describe this moment: truly beautiful. Words aren’t enough; we deserve this title. I’m proud of the team and the journey we’ve made. We’re Italian, European, and World Champions, at least until December. We could have even made it 5 out of 5, but it’s clearly been a wonderful season.
