The “break of ranks” has arrived for Alva Inox 2 Emme Service Porto Viro. Players, staff, managers, and the main black-and-fuchsia sponsors gathered at the “La Cascina dei Sapori” restaurant in Taglio di Po for the traditional end-of-season greetings: a convivial moment to celebrate the Polesine team’s journey in the 2025/2026 Credem Banca Serie A2 championship, which concluded with early relegation and participation in the promotion playoffs.
Delta Volley President Luigi Veronese gave the first shout-out to the sponsors, “who continue to support us despite the difficult historical moment we are experiencing.” He then congratulated the team, “for never losing heart, also thanks to the support of the club.”
“In January,” Veronese said, “the boys and I spoke, looking each other in the eye. The real risk was relegation, tarnishing the club’s history. They did a good job of shouldering the responsibility of honoring the jersey and gave us great satisfaction. Some of these players will leave, but the hope is that each of them will carry fond memories of Porto Viro and this season.”
The president then turned his attention to the future, without losing sight of the club’s identity and ambitions: “For next season, we are building a competitive roster. My dream remains to win the Coppa Italia, a trophy we’ve been chasing for a long time. A move to the Superleague wouldn’t be sustainable: it would force us to move far from Porto Viro. But I believe the city deserves this championship; we’ve worked hard and earned it, and it’s also the fruit of the efforts of our sponsors. Moving elsewhere would mean taking away from the area a sporting project in which so many local organizations have believed and invested.”
