Vero Volley Monza secured a resounding victory against Sonepar Padova at the Opiquad Arena in the first match of the SuperLega Playoffs for 5th Place. The team from Brianza thus got off to a flying start in the best-of-three series. The home team’s stars were top scorer Rohrs, who scored 17 points, and top scorer Velichkov, who scored 14. Among the visitors, Stefani (12), Orioli (11), and Held (10) all scored in double figures. The two rivals will return to the net on Wednesday, April 8th at the Kioene Arena for the second round. The Lombardy team will have first match point, and the Padova team will look to capitalize on home advantage and level the series to play the tiebreaker in Monza.
Allianz Milano secured a lightning victory at the Allianz Cloud against Cisterna Volley in their seasonal debut in the Play Off Quarterfinals for 5th Place in the Credem Banca SuperLega. Fresh from their European title thanks to their victory in the 2026 Challenge Cup, the Milanese team dominated their opponents, keeping control of the game throughout the match. Opposite hitter Reggers was the driving force with his 23 points in just three sets. Otsuka (13) also scored double figures for the Milanese team. Barotto was the only guest to reach 10 points. The match will be repeated on Wednesday 8th April at 8.30pm in Cisterna di Latina for Game 2. The team from Pontine must bounce back to keep their hopes of qualifying alive.
