The whole volleyball world is in mourning for Marcello Gabana, the Monza chairman who passed away tragically in an airplane accident today (Saturday). Marcello Gabana and his pilot died in the crash of the helicopter who was flying from Verbania to Calcinato. The aircraft fell in the Varese lake.
Marcello Gabana, who was born in 1944, left his wife Daniela Grandi and his three children: Giulia, Claudia and Sofia. He was the chairman of the Monza volleyball club since 2002, after having sponsorized the club for years.
The Italian Volleyball League, together with the Federation and the whole world of volleyball share the grief of the Gabana family, of the club and of the family of the pilot Detomi, who left his wife and two children.
