In front of 3000 spectators in the Palapanini, Modena took three important points at the end of a tight encounter. Led by Rivaldo and fellow countryman Cleber, Taranto had an excellent game but the hosts did well in the clutch time.
Silvano Prandi (Trenkwalder Modena): “It’s been a tight game and the result might be a bit severe for Taranto. The points are important because this allows us to stay at in the very top part of the table. We want to think one game at a time. I’m obviously happy with the results so far. We would certainly like to stay where we are now, we will do everything possible to be amongst the top four at the halfway point of the season”.
Paolo Montagnani (Prisma Taranto): “I’m satisfied with the performance of the boys, we put Modena under pressure in various spells tanks to our serve. The first set is a shame, I think we have also been victim of a couple of dubious referee decisions”.

Verona’s dream to come back from Trento with a victory lasted until 14-13 in the fifth set. But then, Kaziyski had other plans: he scored three points helping the World Champions to keep their winning streak going.
Emanuele Birarelli (Itas Diatec Trentino): “It’s been a difficult game, Verona played without fear but in the end it paid the price for a predictable game. Vissotto’s absence made itself felt but we still did a good job of turning things around having recourse to our bench”.
Dore Della Lunga (Marmi Lanza Verona): “It’s been a great tie-break, shame because it’s not that often that you can go 2-0 up, but they are not the World Champions by chance. We built our game with some nice volleyball and the awareness that we had nothing to lose. We played especially well in the first two sets and in the fifth as well, taking an important point”.

Undisputed victory for Cuneo who finished Vibo Valentia off in straight sets in front of 3325 fans. The ex-Gonzalez received a special welcoming with a friendly banner dedicated to him.
Nikola Grbic (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “I was expected a battle but when our tactical game works fine, it gets difficult to play against us. Credit to us for putting under pressure Vibo right from the start so that to stop them from gaining confidence. We know each other better now, the understanding between the players grows everyday”.

Piacenza comes back from Pineto with the win. The game was over after the second set. The serve and the work at the net of the guests made the difference.
David Lampariello (Aran Cucine Abruzzo Pineto): “We did not manage to keep up with Piacenza’s rhythm, too fast for us. Their blocks, serve and dig have been key. We tried our best as long as it seemed possible to. Still, these are not the games to win to stay up”.
Angelo Lorenzetti (CoprAtlantide Piacenza): “Three important points but that won’t make us forget Modena: At least I won’t, the wound is still open. Pineto did not play as well as in previous encounters today, but in my opinion they have the means to stay up: they have excellent spikers”.

Alessandro Fei (Sisley Treviso): “We played well in the first two sets, but then they made the right changes and our level of play decreased, which allowed them to gain confidence. We were back on track in the fourth and even though it was more difficult that it should have been, we eventually grabbed the three points. This is crucial for us because we stay in touch with the group leading the pack, which we really wanted to”.
Piero Molducci (Yoga Forlì): “It’s not here that we must win, but I’m satisfied with the reaction of the boys from the third set on. Obviously, it’s not enough to wake up after two sets when you want to win in Treviso”.
