MA Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo celebrates the conquest of the 5th edition of the Del Monte® Supercoppa Serie A2: after having achieved promotion to SuperLega Credem Banca against Gruppo Consoli Sferc Brescia, the Cuneo team was able to repeat itself in the match that closed the Serie A2 season, winning 3-0 against the Brescia team in a sort of remake of the Play Off Final. Top scorer Giulio Pinali (15 points), Karli Allik also in double figures (11 seals, with 4 aces)
A great celebration for Cuneo and its Captain, Daniele Sottile, who has reached the last match of his career; the last lap of the carousel also for Simone Tiberti, Brescia’s driving force, who closes his adventure after two Coppa Italia and one Supercoppa won in two seasons. The two players were given a long round of applause at the award ceremony.
MVP of the match was Giulio Pinali, opposite of Cuneo, author of 15 points during the set: the 1997 class was awarded by the Vice Director of the Lega Pallavolo Serie A Yvonne Schlesinger, while the medals around the necks of MA Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo were placed by Patrizia Manassero, Mayor of the Municipality of Cuneo, and Fabio Mechini, Councilor of the Lega Pallavolo Serie A.
At the end of the press release, the roll of honor, the winning coaches and the players who raised the Supercoppa Serie A2 to the sky. For Domenico Cavaccini, this is the second success in the competition, all the other players of MA Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo are at their first victory.
DEL MONTE® MVP: Giulio Pinali (MA Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo).

Daniele Sottile (MA Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo): “I can only say a big thank you to everyone for these 30 years. Years that have flown by and are wonderful: I thank everyone who has been part of the world of volleyball, from coaches to managers to fans. For me today a circle closes, which began in 1995 here in Cuneo and has ended here. Not even in the best of dreams could it have gone this way. There is still a bit of disbelief, we will achieve better in a few months. I have no regrets: I think I have given everything, always. I cannot reproach myself for anything: I am sincerely happy and calm for what I have done. I tell young people to dream and have fun: even today I enjoy going to the gym every day”.
Simone Tiberti (Gruppo Consoli Sferc Brescia): “I spent the last three points looking at the ground, thinking about when I started this journey and where I have arrived. Now we are tired, let’s think about resting. The problem will be in August, when we will feel like returning to the gym. Maybe we will do it differently. Let’s see when we realize what will happen. I did the best I could with the means I had: the only thing I perhaps missed was a promotion with Brescia, the team of my city. Tonight I smile looking back. I tell the younger ones not to waste time: doing this job is an enormous privilege”.
