A press room filled with mixed emotions provided the backdrop for Saverio De Santis, libero for Domotek Volley, to speak after the 2-3 loss to his former team, Castellana Grotte, at PalaCalafiore.
With the evening still fresh in his mind, De Santis didn’t mince words when describing the match that had just ended, a true battle.
“What kind of game was it? What kind of game did you experience?”
“It was a hard-fought match; they played really well,” De Santis began, immediately acknowledging the caliber of his opponent. “Congratulations to Castellana, to Coach Barbone; they truly play great volleyball with so many strong young players. They gave us a hard time and deservedly won.”
“We gave it our all, as always, but given the result, we need to work harder, get back to the gym and give even more to, let’s say, improve day by day in the match.”
The scenario? “Obviously, Reggio Calabria responded, which was what we expected. There were really a lot of people there. Yes, it’s a shame about the result, but I think we showed great volleyball, both us and them, we put on a great show.”
