In a week of numbers and statistics, he scored the first point of his career in the Credem Banca Serie A3 championship while playing for ErmGroup Altotevere. A slash that was a perfect invitation for middle blocker Flavio Procelli: the young man from Sesto Fiorentino (23 years old and exactly 2 meters tall), whose father is from nearby Anghiari, thus erased a zero from his personal record, and he did it in the same game in which his colleague Augusto Quarta reached 1500 points. “I’m already 1499 points behind Quarta!” jokes Procelli as he prepares to begin yet another afternoon session at the sports hall. He then added: “I was aiming for a winning block, and it would have been better, both because blocking is more satisfying and because I’m practicing and specializing in the precise task of putting the ball up high when the coach makes a substitution in the key phase of the set. Aside from that, though, I’m thrilled to have put that ball down: a great morale boost and a first reward for the week’s work.
