The final hurdle before the Final Four in Turin, scheduled for Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th: the knockout phase of the CEV Champions League is in full swing, with two Italian teams still battling for a spot in the final and engaged in the second legs of the quarterfinals.

The first of the two SuperLega teams to take to the field will be Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia, who play tomorrow evening – Wednesday, April 1st – at home against Spanish side Guaguas Las Palmas, a team they have already faced three times this season. The match at the PalaBarton Energy kicks off at 8:30 PM, with live coverage on Sky Sport and DAZN. The Block Devils won the first leg 3-2 and will now be able to capitalize on this advantage in front of their home crowd to secure a spot in the Final Four. In the first leg, Wassim Ben Tara (28 points) took center stage, followed by the duo of Oleh Plotnytskyi and Bezerra Souza, who each scored 20 points.

After their European fixture, Angelo Lorenzetti’s team will dive back into the league: it’s time for the playoff semifinals for Perugia, who will host Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza for Game 1 on Monday, April 6th at 5:30 PM.

On Thursday, April 2nd, at 6:00 PM, it will be Cucine Lube Civitanova’s turn: the team will face Polish team Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie after a three-set defeat in the first leg at the Eurosuole Forum. Coach Medei’s team will need to win the match 3-0 or 3-1 to qualify for the Golden Set, which is crucial for advancing to the next round. Former SuperLega veteran Aaron Russell was among the top scorers in the first leg with 12 points (Bartosz Kwolek was held to 10); Aleksandar Nikolov’s 17 points and Eric Loeppky’s 11 weren’t enough for Civitanova.

The Credem Banca Playoff Semifinals will begin on Sunday, April 5th, at 6:00 PM at the Pala AGSM Aim, where the team will play Game 1 against the home team Rana Verona.
