Semifinals Play Off SuperLega Credem Banca:
Rana Verona – Cucine Lube Civitanova 3-0 (34-32, 25-21, 25-21)
Rana Verona secured a resounding victory in front of over 5,000 spectators at the Pala Agsm AIM in Game 1 of the Credem Banca Playoff Semifinals. In the opening match of the semifinal series, Fabio Soli’s men defeated Cucine Lube Civitanova 3-0, moving ahead in the series.
Among the key players of the evening was Noumory Keita, awarded MVP and scoring 15 points (including three aces for the Verona spiker); Darlan (13) and Rok Mozic (11) also scored in double figures for Rana. For Cucine Lube Civitanova, Aleksandar Nikolov (the match’s top scorer) scored 20 points, while Mattia Bottolo added 10.
After a tight first set, characterized by constant twists and turns, ending with a score of 34-32 (the fifth highest-scoring SuperLega match of the current season, with 66 points overall), the home team managed the match well, winning the second and third sets by scores of 25-21.
Verona and Civitanova will return to action on the evening of Wednesday, April 8th, when the second act of this semifinal series will take place live on Rai Sport and VBTV. Tomorrow afternoon, Monday, April 6th, at 5:30 PM, the other two semifinalists will take to the court: the PalaBarton Energy is preparing to welcome Sir Susa Scai Perugia and Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, which will bring the curtain down on Game 1.
