Nicolò Hoffer, born in 2000 in Trentino, will be the starting libero for the 2026/2027 season of Campi Reali Cantù. Since 2018, he has been a regular at the top of Italian volleyball, having won two DelMonte® Coppa Italia titles, one in the SuperLega with Piacenza and one in Serie A2 with Brescia. Last season, he played for Belluno Volley in Serie A3 Credem Banca, fighting for promotion to the second national league until the end, losing only at the last opportunity to Domotek Reggio Calabria.

Coach Tommaso Invernici commented on the new addition: “Nicolò is a significant signing, a truly valuable libero for the category. He will be a key player for the team.”

These are the player’s words: “Next year I’ll be playing for a club I’ve faced several times as an opponent, and I’ve always had very positive feelings. This is true both from players who have played there and from personal experience. I really like the facility, and I’m curious to discover Cantù. I know I’m replacing a cornerstone of Cantù volleyball (former libero and Captain Luca Butti, ed.), a true icon: it won’t be an easy task, but I’ll do my best to replace him worthy of him. My goal for next year is to do well: for the first time in two years, I won’t be playing for a team with overtly ambitious goals. I’m convinced this could be an advantage for us, because if we can put together the right group, we can achieve a lot. I think the ingredients are there for a great year. Clearly, we’ll have to build the chemistry between us, but I think the right pieces are in place.”
