A.S. Volley Lube announces the three-year contract renewal of athletic trainer Massimo Merazzi, one of the key figures in the club’s most memorable moments. Born in Lombardy but living in the Marche region, the guardian angel of muscles has been at Cucine Lube Civitanova for 15 seasons and, at least until 2029, will continue to work closely with the technical and medical staff to optimize performance and prevent injuries for the Italian runners-up. Originally from Como and with significant previous experience in both soccer and volleyball, “Max” has contributed to Lube’s most exciting successes, where he arrived in 2011/12, enhancing the performances of the many champions who played for the club before and after the club’s move to Civitanova. During his time with Lube, the trainer participated in the Club World Cup, the CEV Champions League, various Scudetto titles, and more, becoming a key figure in the team.
Massimo Merazzi (Lube Civitanova Kitchens Coach):
“I’ve been at Lube for 15 seasons, and this renewal makes me happy. It’s not easy to create such long-lasting collaborations in my work. I wanted to stay; I didn’t even think twice when the offer came. I’m incredibly attached to the Club, which I now feel like my home, and to the individual players who wear the red and white jersey. When the guys mention me and the other staff members in their farewells, I feel gratified because it means we’ve worked well, without ever neglecting the human aspect and the serenity of the group. I try to do my best on a technical level, but I want our members to feel comfortable. It doesn’t mean being friends: it means working well together, even off the pitch, with empathy. We’re coming off a mixed season. Reaching the Scudetto Final has brought back our smiles, but we shouldn’t sweep the ups and downs of the first phase under the rug; if anything, we should learn from them. We did well in the playoffs, but not enough to reach the final.” Scudetto. This is a disappointment, but it’s part of the game. I thank the fans for their affection. I arrived at Lube when we were still playing in Macerata. We’ve always had great support from our fans, both in exciting moments and in difficult ones. I feel at home here, and the Predators are an important part of the family!
