Promotion was the icing on the cake of a perfect season. Domotek Volley is still celebrating the triumph that earned them promotion to the higher division, and among the undisputed stars of this journey is spiker Giulio Parrini, now nicknamed by fans as the team’s “Talisman.” Parrini, in fact, was also promoted two years ago while playing for Lagonegro.
“It went well. We finished well, so I’d say calling me ‘The Talisman’ from the beginning of the year worked. You can keep calling me that.” A difficult but beautiful season, as he himself describes it: “We had a great championship, an excellent playoff series, even the series against Reggio Emilia helped us grow, and we came very close there too. Then the circle closed on Sunday at the Palacalafiore against Belluno, bringing home promotion.”
The triumph takes on the character of an epic. “A historic treble” that joins the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa. And Parrini doesn’t hide his emotion: “We’ve made volleyball history in the city and nationally. We’re thrilled.” But the best moment? Not just the victory. The fans’ gesture surprised him: “I’ve never been printed on such a giant poster brought to the court by the kids. I was really happy; they made me look bigger than I actually am. I was staring at my biceps! At first I was trying to figure out what they were, but then they galvanized me.”
To whom does he dedicate this success? “To everyone who was close to us, to the team, to us personally, to the entire team from top to bottom, to Coach Polimeni and the coaches. Everyone’s work was important.”
