All good things come in threes: following the announcements of Diaferia and Becchio, Banca Macerata Fisiomed has officially signed a third player for the 2026/2027 season. Marco Novello, a 2002-born Venetian opposite hitter, will once again wear the red and whites, ready to set the Banca Macerata Forum alight with points and dunks wearing his number 5 jersey.
The continuation of the relationship between Novello and the red and whites represents the natural continuation of a journey begun last season, as part of a two-year agreement that demonstrates the shared desire to grow together. This move is a sign of continuity, following a season in which the opposite hitter established himself as one of the offensive anchors of coach Giannini’s team. Power, charisma, and personality: characteristics that convinced the club and coaching staff to focus on him as one of the cornerstones of the red and whites project: “Let’s just say we didn’t have to think about continuing together: as soon as the conditions were right, we continued along the path we had already begun.”
With numbers in hand, the Treviso-born opposite hitter’s value is clear for all to see. He’s already racked up over 1,800 points in Serie A between A2 and A3, with 609 in Serie A2. Treviso, Prata, Belluno, Mantova, Cantù, and finally Macerata: now it’s time to consolidate his position—with his experience in the Marche region becoming the only one to span more than one year—and become an increasingly important figure in the new red and white roster.
“I’m happy to continue my journey in Macerata. I think next year’s team will be more or less similar to last year’s, despite the changes in some players.”
