He was a key player on the court, scoring 203 points, including 7 aces and 59 blocks. “It was a very formative year for me,” Compagnoni emphasized, “because I got to grips with the dynamics of the game, and even on a human level, I can say I’ve come away enriched. It was a year that taught me what it takes to win, and therefore, it was valuable beyond the purely technical aspect. And it was also an important year: we missed the playoff final in the golden set after first beating and then putting Belluno on the ropes. I’m satisfied with what we managed to achieve.” His experience as a starter at Altotevere, after a previous A2 tournament spent mostly on the bench, represented the qualitative leap he was looking for. “At the beginning of the season,” Compagnoni recalls, “the problem was getting used to the new and direct responsibilities, but this gradually improved as the weeks went by, to the point where I saw an improvement in all the fundamentals. Not only that, I also gained greater confidence to convey on the pitch.” And the moment of farewell is also a source of sadness for him: “It’s sad to have to leave teammates with whom I had a great time. I experienced a great atmosphere at San Giustino, and it’s not always easy to find environments like this. And leaving the arena where you trained and played for a year makes you feel sad, even if inside I’m at peace: the team and I gave everything we had, and I want to say right now to my friends and fellow white-and-blue fans that this is a goodbye, not a farewell,” Compagnoni concludes.
