Replacing a pillar of recent years like Gabbanelli on the market was certainly no easy feat, but the Macerata management team was ready. The keys to Banca Macerata Fisiomed’s second line for the next two consecutive Serie A2 seasons will be in the hands of Andrea Marchisio, the new libero for the red and whites.

DG Vullo’s signing is a real transfer coup, giving Coach Giannini’s squad added confidence, given the caliber of a player who can undoubtedly lend a helping hand to a young group in terms of quality and experience.

Andrea, born in Cuneo in 1990, arrives in Macerata already familiar with the Marche region, having previously played second-row with Energy Resources Carilo Loreto (A2 in 2010/11), Lube Civitanova (A1 from 2017 to 2021), and Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina (since 2023), with whom he made the leap from the second to the first division three seasons ago. In addition, he has played for Cuneo, Siena, Tuscania, and Castellana Grotte, over a decade-long career and a record that speaks for itself: three Scudetti, two Coppa Italia titles, a Champions League title, and a Club World Cup—just to name a few.

A champion convinced upon his arrival at the Sferisterio by the club’s serious and ambitious project: “I felt everyone was really keen to sign me and bring me to play here. I was very pleased with that, and what’s more,” adds the new red and white number 4, “I’ve known Romano (Giannini, ed.) for years. I know how he works, his professionalism, his experience, and his hardworking attitude, which meshes very well with mine.”
