The three-year collaboration between A.S. Volley Lube and the Catalan Volleyball Federation has entered a new chapter with the visit of a delegation from the red and whites to Barcelona. On Monday, June 15, 14 athletes from the Academy Volley Lube, ranging from U15 to U17, arrived in Spain, along with coach Federico Belardinelli, assistant coach Mattia Lucarini, physiotherapist Tommaso Pagnanelli, and athletic trainer Matteo Lazzari.

The group was welcomed to the large multidisciplinary center of the Blume Sports Academy. The Marche natives were welcomed by coach Israel Martin Hernandez, his assistant Miguel Sanchez Vicente, and assistant coach Javier Peña. In February, the young Catalan athletes visited the Eurosuole Forum and learned firsthand about the organization of the Italian runners-up and the red and white youth team led by Giampiero Freddi.

The Lube team will remain in Barcelona until Friday, June 19th. After an initial introductory day, the program includes weight room and field training sessions, as well as friendly matches between the young players from the Marche club and the Catalan team. The two coaching staffs also enjoyed a lively exchange of ideas and information.

Tommaso Pagnanelli (A.S. Volle Lube physiotherapist):

“I was impressed by the comprehensive organization of their sports center: they even made a physiotherapy studio available to us. It’s a very interesting experience for the kids, but for us, too, it’s important to share the same comprehensive work methodology.”
