Vero Volley Monza is pleased to announce the arrival of Leonardo Bonacchi, a 2007-born setter who grew up in the Brianza youth sector and is ready to begin his first season in the SuperLega, to the first team.

Born in Milan on December 14, 2007, and standing 182 centimeters tall, he arrives in the top division with an impressive profile: two Under-19 Championships in the last two years, two titles in the Del Monte® Junior League—the competition for Serie A Under-20 teams—and the Best Setter award at the Under-19 National Finals played in recent weeks.

His move to senior volleyball might seem like a complete comeback after a brilliant career in the youth teams, but Bonacchi is reaffirming his ambitions: “I see it as a new starting point and an opportunity to continue growing,” he says. A modern and dynamic setter, Leonardo makes reading the game one of his strengths: “I like to play tactically, always looking for the best solution for the team. I love fast-paced play and try to involve all my teammates.” The director is enthusiastic about his new adventure in Italy’s top league: “We have a very young team, eager to prove their worth. It will be a challenging challenge, but I’m confident that, with hard work, we can achieve some great results.”
