Another new face for Plus Volleyball Sabaudia, which has appointed Filippo Guerriero as its director. The Genoese setter, born in 2003, arrives after his last season with Gabbiano FarmaMed Mantova in Serie A3 and is one of the young players the club has decided to focus on for the new coaching program led by coach Vincenzo Totire.
For Guerriero, this is an important opportunity in his development. After his experience as a second setter in Serie A2 with Prata di Pordenone and his first season as a protagonist in Serie A3 with Mantova, the Ligurian director has chosen Sabaudia to continue his development.
“The opportunity to come to Sabaudia arose a couple of months ago, when I was contacted by the club,” the director explains. “When the offer was made to me, I didn’t hesitate long: I saw it as a great opportunity, in line with my career path. Two years ago, I was the second setter in A2 at Prata di Pordenone, while last season I managed to carve out a spot in A3 with Mantova. The opportunity to come to Sabaudia and play consistently was a dream come true for me.”
He was also convinced by the club’s technical project, characterized by a young group and the arrival of a highly experienced coach. “I was struck by the fact that so many young players were brought in,” he says. “Working in an environment like this is very stimulating because we young players are so eager to challenge ourselves, to grow and improve: I’m happy to share this experience with teammates who are just as hungry as I am.”
