Society history
Le origini sono legate all'Associazione Sportiva Trasimeno Volley fondata nell'anno 1973. Esattamente dieci anni dopo arriva in Serie A2 nell'entusiasmo generale di una città. Nella stagione successiva, però, si riparte dalla Seconda Divisione. E' il 1999 quando cambia definitivamente la storia della società che viene rilevata dall'attuale Presidente, Claudio Sciurpa. Si riparte dalla Serie B1 e dopo due stagioni si ritorna in Serie A2. Il Presidente costituisce un nuovo gruppo di imprenditori che lo appoggiano nella nuova avventura. La squadra viene trasferita a Perugia e al termine della stagione 2001-02 approda in Serie A1. Il 2004/05 è l'anno del maggiore splendore. Arriva fino alla finale scudetto, persa con Treviso e l'anno successivo gioca la sua prima Champions League. Alla vigilia della stagione 2010/11 la società diventa Umbria Volley e si trasferisce a San Giustino
