It was supposed to be an almost impossible match to win for Genova, especially considering that the match was far from the friendly home arena. But Nello Mosca’s boy came home with a great victory in Loreto, against Carilo. And now Genova gained very important point and overtook Spoleto and has 4 points more than Mantova.
Nello Mosca’s team played an almost perfect game, with great concentration.
Still without Giombini and Bruno, coach Mosca played with Depalma setter, Toppel opposite player, Manassero and Belaid spikers, Tagliatti and Tomassetti middle blockers, and Romeo libero.
The Genova team started really well. After the second time out they are ahead 17-14 also thanks to the Loreto serving mistakes. The set ends 25-21. In the second set the Carilo team tries to react and go ahead 10-8 but Genova doesn’t give up and keep playing well. At the second time the Carige is ahead 16-14.
Great passing and very good setting for Depalma. The spikers keep scoring winning points as well as the middle blockers. So the Carige arrives to 23-20 and close the set 25-21.
In the 3rd set Loreto received an important break (3-8). The Carige doesn’t drop the intensity of the match and doesn’t shake at all. 16-9 after the second time out. Genova doesn’t waste the advantage accumulated and close also the 3rd set 25-21.
It’s a group victory and it’s the coach job that is starting to get the results hoped back.
