TIM CUP A2

THE PROTAGONISTS TALK

Name: GIORDANO
Surname: MATTERA
Born: Civitavecchia (RM) il 29/08/1983 – 200 cm
Role: Palleggiatore
Team: ESSE-TI CARILO LORETO

This is not your first Coppa Italia’s final. You played in the A1’s Final Four with Cuneo in 2004. What memories do you have of that experience?

“That time I was a bench-warmer, now I’m not, btu the experience was good anyhow. In the quarterfinal I played replacing Sottile, who was injured, and even not expecting it I played well and I have a nice memory of it. Then we got to the Final Four in Firenze, where we won teh semifinal against Macerata and then lost the final against Treviso. I didn’t play the last two matches, but getting there was for the whole team exciting”.

And now Final Four again, but the Cup is now A2 and you are no bench-warmer..

“To be not on the bench is great. After having worked hard to get to the Final Four, it will be good to play itr and try to reach and win the Final. It won’t be easy, for we will have to face Taviano, which defeated us twice already. But we will try it, and this Final Four is open to every conclusion”.

For a young and good player as you are the Final Four is not only a good experience, but even the chance to show your skills…

It will be for sure a very good window, with the break of the championship and all the eyes on us. For me it will be the chance to show to everybody what I can do near to the net. A chance that, of course, I want to use as much as I can”.
