Taranto is concluding its market moves at impressive speed. Cozzi has just joined the club but chairman Bongiovanni spent some more straight away with another middleblocker: Alberto Elia. About to turn 24, the player comes from Tarquinia, near Viterbo. He had an excellent 2008-09 season with Roma in A2, where he scored 311 points, of which 75 blocks. He originally comes from Treviso’s youth ranks (one Under20 title won) but was first loaned to Crema, then Catania and Roma. This is now Taranto’s turn to benefit from his services.

“I am extremely motivated – said Elia – I wish we were already in August. Me as a starter? The coach decides. I’ll have to show my qualities on court. I know this is a great opportunity for me and I’ll do my best to take advantage”.
