Michele Groppi will be Verona’s second setter for the upcoming season. Born in 1986 in Genova, he came up in Modena before flying to the states to play four years in University in California.

“When I passed my A-levels, I moved to California, to the university of Stanford – explained Groppi – I had this great opportunity to get a grant thanks to volleyball. That is how I visited many places, be that for my studies or my volleyball games. I went to Israel, China, South America, Canada, it’s been a great experience, a very important one. I’ve always followed the Italian league and I’m thrilled to have been called by Verona”.
