Vibo made the first home game a good one, bouncing back following last Sunday’s defeat. It played good volleyball and had the better of Roma. The home side showed great determination even in the difficult moments like in the third set and showed it was making progress. As for Roma, it was one to forget. The third set, seemingly secured, was lost and the approach of the following set was wrong.
Andrea Giani (Coach M. Roma Volley): “Having lost the third set this way, I was hoping for a different reaction from my team. Our attitude was not good and the start showing 16-10 for Vibo was emblematic”.
Vincenzo Di Pinto (allenatore Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia): “We had worked a lot and well for this game. In the end, it paid off. We only faded a bit in the second set, but then we had a great reaction in the third set which allowed us to beat Roma”.
The game had begun with a minute silence to remember Fipav Calabria secretary, Giancarlo Naso, who passed away at only 39 years of age for an incurable disease.
