Trentino defeated Piacenza 3-0 in front of 3000 fans in a game valid for the 10th round. A game that has been forwarded due to Trentino’s participation in the Club World Championships. MVP: Raphael.
Before kick off, two awards concerning the 2009-10 season have been handed by Massimo Righi, Italian Volleyball League CEO. Osmany Juantorena received the “Best server” award, while Trentino Volley was named for the “most correct crowd of the Serie A1”.
Roberto Serniotti (Ass.coach Itas Diatec Trentino): “We had an excellent game against an improved Piacenza team which had a positive attitude and made it difficult for us at the beginning of the first set. We have an experienced team which does not panic when it trails at the starts of game. Like in the last round in San Giustino, we found the resources to react and take the win. Congratulations to Dore Della Lunga who is getting better and is taking good advantage of Kaziyski’s absence”.
Paolo Maffi (General Manager Copra Morpho Piacenza): “We are not amongst the top teams like Trento which fights for the first places. Trentino played well and making it tough for them is already is a satisfaction for us. This is the Piacenza team of last season but a team with different players and a different identity. The target is to finish in the top eight, qualify for the Italian Cup and the playoffs. If we play like today, we can make it, but if we play like in Verona it will be very tough”.
