Super Cup 2010 presented today
In a press conference, the 15th edition of the Italian Super Cup was presented today. The event organised by the Italian Volleyball League in collaboration with the Piemonte FIPAV Regional Committee, will be played on December 29 in Turin’s PalaRuffini at 8.30pm.
The protagonists of the first big event of the 2010-11 season of the Italian Volleyball League will be Cuneo, Italian champs, and Trentino, the Italian Cup winners 2010. The Super Cup will be broadcasted on Rai Sport 1 but its media coverage will go well beyond Italy thanks to Eurosport 2, which will offer the event in 47 European countries, Al Jazeera Sport, which will broadcast it in the Middle East and in Africa. Besides, there will be live streaming on BWIN.COM.
“We’re back in Turin after ten years when we organised the A2 Italian Cup final, which the then Turin club won – explained Italian League managing director Massimo Righi – We will host two great teams: Trento and Cuneo are amongst the absolute best teams in the world. Last year Cuneo won the league title and a difficult Cev Cup, while Trentino triumphed in the Club World Championships and Italian Cup. This is why this promises to be a top level Super Cup, even superior than some of the games we have seen in the recent World Championships. Let’s not forget we will play on our giant flag, the Mondo tricolour court”.
