The first return games of the Champions League main phase could not have gone any better. Three wins in as many games for the Italians, which are all top of their groups. In Pool C, Trentino took revenge on the home loss of a week ago in Poland by sweeping Zaksa 3-0.

Cuneo beat once again the French of Poitiers 3-0 and consolidate their first place with a three-point advantage on the opponent of the day.

In Pool E, Macerata stands tall with 10 points out of 3 wins in four games. The latest came against Innsbruck. The Turkish team of Fenerbahce, the only one that beat Macerata, is the next opponent of the Italians.

In the Cev Cup, Monza obtained its ticket to the quarter-finals. It easily got rid of Nafels, Switzerland. Next are the Germans of Berlin.

Modena’s European campaign came to an early end. A brilliant start in the second round was followed by a road loss in Luxemburg, which led to a lethal Golden set. Modena is out and will therefore not be able to add to their 2008 triumph.
