Minute silence for Sardegna flood victims
The Italian Volleyball League, joining the disposal of CONI president John Malagò, has ordered to observe a minute silence on all Serie A courts on Saturday and Sunday in memory of the Sardegna flood victims.

Trentino vs Latina
Due to the Grand Champions Cup being played in Japan, there is no Serie A1 this weekend except for the postponed game of the first round between Trento and Latina, which had not been played as Trento was in Brazil for the World Club Championships. Serniotti’s men have only been beaten once (by Macerata) and are currently third in the table and could move up to second above Piacenza with a victory. But they’ll have to do it without Birarelli and Lanza, both in Japan with the Italian national team. On the other side of the net, Sottile and co gathered only one win so far against Molfetta. New signing Starovic will have to watch from the stand as the club will be allowed to play only after three rounds. Latina will also be missing libero Rossini, who’s in Japan too.

We’re expecting a positive performance on court now, but we know Latina will come willing to add to their recent wins so let’s not underestimate them. It’s a tricky game”.
Daniele Tailli (Andreoli Latina): “I have been working for a while for this game, given that we knew Rossini would not be playing. I did my best to be ready. I can’t wait to take on Trento, and I am curious to see what I can do in this Serie A1. We have proved that we are gaining confidence as a team. They are an excellent team and that will be very complicated, but I think we have what it takes to take points out of this”.

Sidigas HS Avellino – Coserplast Openet Matera. Beaten in the last round by Milan, and with outside hitter Bencz gone precisely to Milan, Avellino will be home against Matera, who had a superb start to the season. They have upset Padova, Monza and former leaders Potenza Picena and are currently two points from top spot.
Caffè Aiello Corigliano – Materdominivolley.it Castellana Grotte. One of them will gather their first victory. Castellana is the only one to have taken a point by pushing Cantù to the tie-break after coming back from 2 sets down. Despite the excellent performance from Cernic and the 1-0 advantage, Corigliano eventually surrendered 3-1 against Monza in the last round.
Globo Banca Popolare del Frusinate Sora – Itely Milano. Sora slipped three points behind Padova and are looking to bounce back against the newly promoted side of Milan, which will try to add to their good victory over Avellino. An opportunity for Bencz to settle further into the team schemes as he is currently second in the scoring chart behind Moretti. Matera has gathered six points so far out of two home wins. They will try to obtain their first triumph on the road.
B-Chem Potenza Picena – Tonazzo Padova. One first defeat was enough for Potenza to lose top spot and slip down to fourth. In the big game of the weekend, they will take on Padova, the new leader thanks to their victory over Sora in the last round. The ones to watch in Baldovin’s team will be Federico Moretti who used to play on the other team and captain Mattia Rosso (24 points in the last game). Padova will also try to beat Potenza for the first time after two tie-break losses last season.
Elettrosud Brolo – Vero Volley Monza. New coach on the bench for the Sicilian team of Brolo. Cannestracci is off and assistant Omar Pelillo takes over. Brolo has only won one set in five games in the last round against Ortona. They have to win at all cost to get off the bottom but the task ahead is nothing easy against Monza, one of the team in the hunt for the very top places.
Cassa Rurale Cantù – Sieco Service Ortona. Cantù came back from the dead in extremis in the last round against Castellana Grotte to win it at the tie-break and will now try to improve its fifth place with a fifth win over Ortona. The latter took six of its seven points at home and needs to find its form on the road. The only point came in Milan.
