2014 DenizBank Champions League


The first return games of the Champions League will be played this week. Macerata is in Siberia to challenge the European Champions of Novosibirsk as they try to stay top of the group (Macerata had won 3-2 the first leg). Trento will play host to the Turkish side of Izmir. It’s top versus bottom as Trento leads the group with nine points while Izmir only has one. Finally on Thursday, Piacenza will be in Bulgaria to meet Dupnitsa, bottom of Pool A and beaten by the Italians 3-0 in the first leg.  Currently second, Zlatanov and co will try to win and hope for Tours to be beaten by Ljubljana.

2014 CEV Cup


Roberto Piazza’s team is off to Germany to meet TV Ingersoll Bühl in the 8th of finals first leg. The Germans had the better of Landstede Zwolle (Holland) in the previous round. Cuneo is galvanized by the European victories over Nantes and the league win over Ravenna last weekend.
