Welcomed news for Ortona as captain Lanci will stay at the club. Born in 1980, he played from division C to the A2 at Ortona and has always been an important player in the squad. The other setter this season will be another home grown talent: Mattia Matricardi. Born in 1989, he came up in the youth teams of the club before playing for Paglietta (B2) in the past three years.
“This is what I wanted – said Matricardi – I was eager to come back to Ortona. Training every day with top quality players will be something new to me, but playing in the A2 in my home town is extremely exciting for me”.
