An Italian champion just committed his future to Milan. The club is indeed thrilled to announce the signing of Stefano Patriarca, who was last season at Macerata, the club where he came up as a teenager. He began his career in Santa Croce before moving to Crema, spending two years in both A2 clubs. He made the grade to the A1 in 2010-11 with Castellana Grotte. Spells in Verona and Latina followed before making his return to Macerata, which he helped win the League title at the expense of Perugia in the final.

“When you start playing you set yourself some targets and winning the league title was one of them – said Patriarca – when you get closer, the emotions are overwhelming, your heart almost stop beating. And when you achieve it, this is the best sensation of your life. Now Milan represents so much for my career. This is the club on the up. I can’t wait to embark on this new challenge, to prove that winning the league was no fluke”.
