Just a few days after the signing of outside hitter Andres Villena, Matera added another foreign player to next year’s roster. The club resigned Joventino Venceslau Luis Fernando. Born in 1989, the Brazilian spiker-receiver decided to stay put despite the offers flowing in from top A1 teams.
“It’s great to see the faith the club and coach Mastrangelo have in me – said Mastrangelo – This is my reward for giving my best, even when I had to fill in as outside hitter when the starter Krolis had to leave the team for a few weeks to join the Dutch national team. I can’t wait to come back to the beautiful city of Matera and get back to training for what I hope will be a very positive season”.
