Yesterday night, Perugia made official the signing of their new head coach: Daniel Castellani. Born in Buenos Aires, the 54-year old Argentine will take over Nikola Grbic. He led some of the best teams both in his home country (Bolivar) and in Europe (Belchatow, Zaksa, Fenerbahce). Besides he has also been the head coach of three national teams: Poland, Argentina and Finland. Among various national titles, a Champions League (with belchatow) and a Challenge Cup (Fener) shines the European Championships 2009 with Poland. The Argentine coach also had a brilliant career as a player, having played many years in Italy too with Chieti, Falconara, Bologna, Padova and Prato. He won the bronze medal in the World Championships 1982 and the bronze in the Olympic Games 1988.
