Perugia’s first move for the coming season was to bring back a legendary player: Mihajlo Mitic! Three years ago, the Serbian setter helped the team reach the Italian Cup and League finals. One of his blocks in the come-back against Macerata in the semi-finals has entered the history of the club. Mitic was very much appreciated for his professional approach, his kindness and good manners. In the past two seasons, he was the starter of Chaumont in France and last year in Lebanon with Al Zahra, where he won the national title.
“Mihajlo is somebody we know well – said sport director Vujevic – He had an important role in Perugia’s initial success. In the past two years, he gained a lot of experience and we’re thrilled to have him back with us. Boban knows him very well and really wanted him, and we all think he will make a good partnership with Luciano (De Cecco) given Mitic’s quality on the serve and at the net. We expect a great contribution from him just like the first year he was here”.
