“This is one of the most solid and important spikers around” said President Molinaroli as Piacenza brought in Simone Parodi. After the additions of Hierrezuelo and Hernandez, the come-back of Marshall and Alletti and the contract extension of Papi, the arrival of Parodi is yet another big move made by the club. Born in 1986, Parodi has played for some of the best teams in Italy like Cuneo, Verona and Civitanova, where he spent his last five seasons. He won three league titles (2010, 2012, 2014), 3 Super Cups (2010, 2012, 2014), 1 Italian Cup (2011) and 1 CEV Cup (2010). He obtained his first cap with the Italian national team in 2007 and is still part of it. He obtained great results at International level too: he won the gold at the Hubert Wagner Memorial (2011), two silver medals at the European Championships 2011 and 2013, the bronze at the London Olympic Games in 2012 and two bronze medals at the World League of Mar Del Plata (2013) and Florence (2014).
