After two years on the bench of the women’s Italian national team, which will end with the Rio De Janeiro Olympic Games, he will be back home. His first task, and he’s already started to work on it, will not be to coach but to build the new team. Torres, Van Darderen and Goi have all been extended for the coming season, promising setter Luca Spirito was signed, while the team will be guided by coach Fabio Soli, who just led Sora to promotion in the SuperLega by winning the Serie A2 playoffs.
“We’re working to build a young team – explained Bonitta in a press conference – We’ll have a setter I know well, which represents the future at his position for Italy together with Giannelli. I want a team with a DNA made of youth and energy, capable of fighting for a place in the playoffs. What I can tell you from now is that not even the giants of this league will be able to win easy in Ravenna”.
