After setter Izzo, Bellei outside hitter, spikers Casoli and Fiore, Mater Castellana Grotte made its fifth signing: Nicholas Sighinolfi. The middle blocker born in 1994 (204cm tall) came up in Modena’s youth ranks and made his pro debut in the SuperLega last season as Modena made the League-Cup double. While he played a lot with the team of the B2 division, he gathered six appearances with the first team and showed all his quality on the serve.
“I chose Materdomini Castellana because there is a very promising project here – said the new middle blocker – I’ve been told a lot of good about coach Fanizza and the club. I’ve never been away from Modena, so I think this will be a great maturing experience. I will give hundred percent in this new challenge. Last season was fantastic, with the league title and the cup. I’ll try to take with me all the things I learnt from the great stars who were around me”.
