Once again Modena is great on the home turf at PalaPanini, a clear 3-0 over Gi Group Monza. In front of enthusiastic 3700 of the temple of italian volleyball, Radostin Stoytchev’s team dominated the game with great rhythm and perfect mechanisms. Only in first set Monza tried to do something, but the strength of the attack of Modena was too much for Miguel Angel Falasca’s team. After being tied at 22, Modena won the first set. In the second Azimut started 9-3 and never looked back, by winning easily the set 25-14. Also in third Modena was strong, despite the effort of Monza who kept balanced the score until 12-12. But in the crunch time of the set Modena stepped up, and won also the third 25-19. A great display of power for the team of Radostin Stoytchev. Mvp of the game american middle blocker Maxwell Philip Holt.

Radostin Stoytchev (Azimut Modena): “I’m happy for the three points, a good result versus a very good team, but now the most important games for us are still to be played. We did a good job down the net, we were good in reception, but we have to learn to improve our break”.

Miguel Àngel Falasca (Gi Group Monza): “We played a good first set, without keeping high the continuity of serve. They were great in the serve, breaking our rhythm closing the match. Every game helps us to grow up, if you low the rhythm then it’s difficult to come back, especially versus powerhouses like Modena. Anyway we keep our head up high, in first and third set we competed”.
