Cucine Lube Civitanova won his sixth game in a row, after the loss on Top Volley Latina’s turf in october, with this clear win over Bunge Ravenna. It was a clear 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 26-24) win, recovering the 2nd round’s game at Eurosuole Forum. It was an easy game for Giampaolo Medei’s team in the first two sets, always in control and always in the lead, with a great performance by Osmany Juantorena and Taylor Sander, who scored 14 points the cuban, and 12 points the american, in the game. Mvp of the game was american setter Micah Christenson, who dished some great sets all game long to all his hammers. After first two easy sets for Lube, 25-14 25-20, in third Bunge Ravenna fought back, playing at the same level of Lube, keeping the set on the edge, with some great performances in attack by middle blocker Marco Vitelli and opposite Paul Buchegger, who kept Ravenna in the game until the extras in third, but losing 26-24 set and match.

Giampaolo Medei (Cucine Lube Civitanova): “We put on the court a solid and strong game, we had some troubles in attack in the third set, also because they grew up and became stronger. I’m happy for this win, especially for our attitude in third set, where we were point by point, keeping the focus and taking advantage of the chances”.
Fabio Soli (Bunge Ravenna): “These aren’t the game we will need to win, versus a team as Lube, a team who had terrific numbers on tonight. This are those kind of games which will need to use to grow up, then play with this experience versus the teams of our level. In first two sets we made too many mistakes, we weren’t serene on the court. In third we played as we know”.
