A.S. Volley Lube announces the engagement with a two-year contract of Barthelemy Chinenyeze, born in 1998 on February 28 in Coudekerque-Branche and back from a very positive season from an individual point of view in the Allianz Milano with which he landed at the Final Four of Del Monte® Italian Cup thanks to the great performance in the quarter-final match won against Civitanova at the Eurosuole Forum. The transalpine athlete awarded as the best central player after his victory at the Tokyo Olympics will claim the 204 cm in the red and white jersey from the 2022/23 season of SuperLega Credem Banca.
Chinenyeze is a key member of the French national team, with whom he lifted the 2017 World League, won silver in the 2018 VNL and the Olympic Gold in 2021. About to face the VNL with the selection of his country (debut against Italy), “Babar”, this is his nickname, he looks forward to wearing the jersey of the champions of the SuperLega Credem Banca and to print bullets in series there where Simon has enchanted everyone for years!
In the first three seasons in Italy Chinenyeze convinced with numbers, confirming himself already an expert for his age. In the two years in Calabria the new Lube place 3 scored 488 points in 55 games (with 88 blocks), while in Milan he played 29 games scoring 310 points, 77 blocks and 17 aces. With his average of 2.90 blocks per set, in the Regular Season Babar was preceded only by Simon and Di Martino by a whisker (2.96).
That the bases were excellent Barthelemy had already shown it years ago in his country, closing the 2018/19 season as MVP and best central with the Tours shirt, with which he won the championship and the national cup. A sort of consecration that came after the experiences in the Polish championship with Resovia (2017/18) and first at home with the Toulouse shirt (2016/17).
