After two absolute novelties such as Dzavoronok and Laurenzano, the summer session of the 2022 market offers a welcome return for Trentino Volley: in the 2022/23 squad there will also be space for Gabriele Nelli, the opposite of twenty-eight who grew up in the Youth Sector.
Two seasons after the last time, the Tuscan hammer will therefore be able to wear the yellow-blue jersey again and will do so by bringing with him the great wealth of experience gained in recent seasons, lived by confronting not only with the Italian championship but also with the Russian and French one. . After winning the Club World Cup and, as an absolute protagonist, the CEV Cup with Trento in the 2018/19 season, Nelli has in fact played in Piacenza, Belgorod, Cannes and Vibo Valentia.
“I am delighted to be returning to one of the most important clubs in the world volleyball movement – declared Gabriele Nelli -. My volleyball career actually started here, I know the environment, the club, the coach and the fans very well and therefore I will be able to really concentrate only on the volleyball played. I believe that my growth process is not over yet; I really want to improve and still play at a high level as happened to me in previous seasons spent in Trento. The squad that the Company is setting up is very competitive; I will try to be useful and be ready when there is a chance to take the field. There will be no shortage of commitments, I can’t wait to get started “.
“In welcoming Gabriele, I cannot fail to reconnect with the previous and positive experiences we had together in Trento – said coach Angelo Lorenzetti -. This return meets two needs; ours to find a valuable replacement for Pinali in the new squad and that of the player, who saw in the club where he grew up the right place to reactivate and find his best volleyball, something that in recent years he had lost a bit to due to some physical problem. We hope that all this can now be just a bad memory; Nelli is a player who needs no introduction in Trento and therefore I just have to express my great satisfaction at the Club’s choice to bring him back here “.
He will return to wear the number 2 shirt (the one he used in his debut years in the first team).
