Last call for the Del Monte® Coppa Italia for the Vero Volley Monza, expected the day after tomorrow, Sunday 11 December at 3.30 pm, at the Pala Estra in Siena to challenge Emma Villas Aubay Siena (live at volleyballworld.tv) for the eleventh and last day of the first leg of SuperLega Credem Banca 2022-23. After the 3-1 defeat suffered against Modena at home last Sunday, Beretta and teammates, ninth with 12 points in the standings, are in fact still in the running to enter the national cup draw (quarter-finals in a straight match, at home of the best classified, on 28 and 29 December, while the Final Four set at the Palazzo dello Sport in Rome on 25 and 26 February 2023).

To hit the target and grab one of the last two free places, Monza, which will be able to count again on the contribution of its spiker Maar, absolutely must win and then hope for the results of its direct competitors, Cisterna and Milan. In fact, six teams have already mortgaged a place on the Italian Cup grid and Vero Volley, always present in the draw for seven consecutive seasons, wants to continue to be one of these. So let’s see the combinations that would allow Massimo Eccheli’s team to return to the top eight:
– If Monza wins 0-3 in Siena: in order not to be overtaken by the Monza side, Cisterna must win against Verona (even by two points) and Milan must do the same in Taranto.
– If Monza wins 1-3 in Siena: Cisterna must win against Verona (even by two points), while Milan must reach the tie-break (even lose).
– If Monza wins 2-3 in Siena: Cisterna must score a point with Verona, with Milan who must win a set.
