The green-and-white technical staff hired Maria Ilaria Donadi.

Maria Ilaria began coaching at the age of 19 at Albatros Volley (2016-2017), a Treviso club where she also grew up as a player, in the women’s youth sector. Become the second coach of the first team that plays in the Serie C championship where the first coach is Milo Zanardo (2017/2019). After his experiences in Serie C, thanks to Milo and Michele Totire he became a scoutman and assistant coach in San Donà in the men’s A3 for a couple of years. Last season she had an experience in Sardinia in Sassari where she held the role of coach in C and second-in-command coach and scoutman of the men’s Serie B. We met her …

Hello Maria Ilaria. How are you? Still on vacation?

“Hello to the white-green fans. Yes, I have been around a bit to recharge my batteries after last season, but I can’t wait to go back to the gym. Fortunately, there is little time left. ”

What convinced you to join the white-green technical staff?

“The reasons are manifold. The staff certainly was the first push to accept. I know and have worked with both Milo Zanardo and Alessio Carraro and I have always found myself very well with both. In addition, I am always looking to learn from those who certainly know more than me and therefore the choice to work with Pino Lorizio was practically obligatory. I am sure it will be a season rich for me, in terms of sporting knowledge, but also on a personal level, for the history of Motta, his collaborators and his fans. ”

You start as a player, then a coach… But where does your passion for numbers and statistics come from?

“I am a pragmatic person, I like to talk about numbers and statistics because they are objective data, they are difficult to contest if placed in the right context. I have always had a passion for math, numbers, etc. I believe for their concreteness, there is no mention of “nothing” here. ”

In addition to being a Scout, you will also be an assistant coach. Only woman in a male staff. How do you see it?

“Especially in the last season I experienced the role of coach and I must say that I like it. I feel good working in a male environment, it’s not the first season that happens to me. I have already been enthusiastically integrated by the staff and the Sporting Director so I’m sure it will be a great team and I will certainly feel at ease. “
