Stephen Maar will be a Vero Volley Monza player for the 2022-2023 season. CAREER AT A GLANCE
Maar approaches volleyball during the school term, starting to play with the Bill Crothers SS lineup. After high school, he joined the McMaster men’s volleyball team, participating in the CIS Championship from the 2012-13 to the 2015-16 season. In the 2016-17 sporting year he signed his first professional contract, landing in the Italian SuperLega with Kioene Padova. After an excellent year, full of high-level performances, he moved to Verona in 2017-2018 and Milan in 2018-2019. Having lived a season in Russia with Dinamo Moscow, in 2019-2020, Maar returns to Italy in the 2020-2021 one, also in Milan, where he wins the CEV Challenge Cup at the end of the season. In 2021-22 he moves to the Top Volley Cisterna , resulting among the protagonists of the Lazio ride up to the Challenge Cup Play-Off Final, lost against Piacenza, after the victory in the Semifinal against the Monza team.

NATIONAL
From 2012 to 2015 he was part of the Under 21 national team of Canada, winning a silver medal at the North American Championship in 2012. From 2015 he became one of the pivots of the seniores representative, with which he collected individual prizes (best hitter of the Pan-American Cup 2015 , of the 2017 and 2019 North American Championships and the Tokyo 2020 North American Qualifiers) and wins three bronze medals: two at the North American Championship and one at the 2017 World League.
