The appointment with the second round of the SuperLega Credem Banca Play Off Finals is approaching. On Thursday 4 May, at 20.30, in front of the RAI Sport cameras, Cucine Lube Civitanova is back on the pitch within the friendly walls of the Eurosuole Forum to host Itas Trentino. The situation sees the Dolomites in the lead in the series thanks to the success in four sets centered in the first act, despite the departure of Srecko Lisinac in the second set, well replaced by Wout D’Heer. Three of the four partials played on Monday at the BLM Group Arena finished at the photo finish, while in the second part of the last set the players from the Marches ran into their only real empty lap of the match, which allowed Angelo Lorenzetti’s men to close the practice with an acceleration. An epilogue which did not, however, erase the sense of balance felt by the 4000 present for most of the contest. What made the difference were the errors in Civitanova’s service in the first set, the excellent Trentino evening in the block-defense and the final decline of the Marches. The timeliness of Gianlorenzo Blengini’s moves was of no avail, as he drew on the resources on the bench without however obtaining the hoped-for answers. The Bulgarian challenge between Matey Kaziyski, MVP of the match and top scorer with 22 points, and Alex Nikolov (20 seals), who on the eve of Game 2 will be awarded as Credem Banca MVP of the Semifinals, was exciting. It’s shaping up to be a night of great volleyball.

Gianlorenzo Blengini (Coach Cucine Lube Civitanova): “It’s a shame about the wasted opportunities in the first and third sets of Game 1, but let’s look ahead, trying to improve. We’re going to have to file something nine meters long. For us it is important to be more incisive when serving against a high-level team like Itas, which receives well. We will fight until the last ball has fallen; these races facilitate the growth of the group, but now what counts is winning”.
Wout D’Heer (Itas Trentino): “Winning Race 1 was beautiful and important, but I’m sure that Thursday we will have an even more difficult task ahead of us since we will be playing at Cucine Lube’s home ground. The match arrives very soon, just three days after the first match, but we know that this will be a period without a break until the end. The playoffs are like this”.
