In the joint training session with New Mater the rossoblù lost 3-0 (20-25, 15-25, 22-25) then played a fourth set which they won 25-14.
Another test to prepare for the start of the championship where Mister Mastrangelo immediately throws the newcomer Russell into the fray, who already demonstrates charisma and power. The additions from the bench were also good, but this time the rossoblù showed a bit of heaviness and little dynamism with solutions that were not always effective. On the other side of the net, Bermudez (20 points) and Balestra (11 points) performed well.

In the second set Russell starts, but is then taken over by Sala, New Mater still leads 6-12. The rossoblù make some errors in attack and in service and Castellana Grotte leads 10-19. New Mater led by Bermudez proves more effective in attack and wins the second set 15-25.
In the third set, Sala started on the pitch and Gioiella took the lead in the first part of the set, but was then overcome again with an excellent performance from Bermudez and the young Iervolino. The Castellano team also won the third set 22-25 and the match 3-0
A fourth set is then played with Russell back on the court in which the Ionian team wins 25-14
