WiMORE Salsomaggiore announces the reconfirmation of middle blocker Manuel Bussolari, who for the third consecutive season will play for the Gialloblù, to which he moved to Serie B in the summer of 2021. Born on 17 March 1999 in Spoleto but Mantuan by adoption, he started playing volleyball in Castiglione, following in the footsteps of his father Matteo, also a former opponent of Montichiari in the 1990s, before being called up to the youth sector in Macerata, where he won the Under 17, Under 18 championship and the Junior League until to earn his debut in A2 and a call-up to the Junior national team. Then Mantua and Mondovì which preceded the move to Parma, the seat of his university studies (he is in the third year of the Biotechnology faculty) and of an important chapter in his sports career given that, accounts in hand, he will become, to all intents and purposes, among the longest-lived of the new course in terms of militancy. “I am delighted to be in Parma in this club that has given me so much in recent years. The aspect that distinguishes it, compared to other realities, is certainly the seriousness, I feel honored and proud to still be part of the project”.

What do you expect from this year?

“I have confidence because we are young guys who can play against anyone. As I always say, if you don’t aim high, you never reach the top, then we’ll understand the goals along the way. On the other hand, even in the past season everything changed suddenly so we don’t set ourselves limits. On a personal level, my intentions remain the same as in the previous two years: I make myself available to everyone and I always try to give my best”.

What characteristic would you like to inherit from the last season?

“Everyone’s seriousness in tackling every game and every training session, combined with the healthy fun that has never been lacking and has helped to cement a group capable of going beyond any wildest predictions”.

How much more can you grow?

“Since the beginning of the last training camp, I knew I was facing two strong centre-backs like Sesto and Fall and that I would improve a lot. So it was and I will treasure the lessons received during the season. I consider myself more of a good attacker and I will have to fine-tune the block-defense phase.”
