Another talented youngster at the court of the Diavoli Rosa: from Savigliano, class 2002 Daniele Mellano will enrich the central department of the Gamma Chimica Brugherio in the 2023/24 Serie A3 championship with Credem Banca.
202 centimeters tall, raised in Savigliano with a few brief spells in Fossano, Mellano has a resume of winning a U22 European championship with the Junior national team together with his future teammates Meschiari and Compagnoni and behind him two seasons of Serie A3 always under the Monge.
Daniele was immediately struck by the technical-sporting direction of the rosanero who saw in him technical and personality traits that mix well with the architecture of the squad for next season, as Sporting Director Quintieri recounts: “Daniele was immediately one of the our first contacts for the central role. Our knowledge for the A3 championship with Savigliano but above all because we won the gold medal at the 2022 European Championship with our other boys. Daniele is the typical player for the Diavoli world: young, with high expectations and a great desire to do and work. We are sure that by working hard we will be able to achieve great satisfaction together”.
Greetings from Daniele Mellano: “I have always known the values and ideals of the Diavoli Rosa and having played against them in recent years, as well as having met people close to this reality, has only confirmed everything I already knew. For this reason, when there was the possibility of coming to the Diavoli, I immediately thought it was the best choice for me. I consider myself a simple guy, always smiling, serious when needed, curious and helpful. I believe that me off the court reflects exactly who I am as an athlete. I know very well a couple of guys with whom I shared my experience in the national team last summer and who I’m thrilled to meet again this year, as for the rest of the group I only know a lot of guys by name or by sight, but I’m sure that they are all excellent players with whom it will not be difficult to build a good relationship and work well”.
Daniele’s personal ambitions: “For me it is important to continue the growth path that began two years ago, the goal is to try to learn and improve as much as possible and therefore face the championship in the best possible way”.
Mellano will be… “Charged and determined! I know my worth and above all I know that I can improve a lot, moreover it is my first experience away from home and all this stimulates me even more to start this new adventure together”.
